This image of M22, my favorite globular cluster, was collected on Dennis Persyk's Takahashi E-160 f/3.3 scope with my SXV-H9C camera. The iCCD software (Mac OS X on a Powerbook G4) was used to collect the image and to do the color processing. These images are stacks of 5 2 minute unguided images. The rgb images were stacked using the program, Keith's Image Stacker. Final adjustment was done with Photoshop. The third image has a weak histogram stretch, the fourth image has a moderate histograms stretch, and the fifth image has an extreme histograms stretch. The second image is a blended composite of the third and fifth images. I have now added an image (top) using the ddp routine in iCCD. I believe that this is now the best image. Compare the two top images. It is amazing what digital development can do. |
