This image was collected with a Stellina observation station from Vaonis. The Stellina is an 80 mm f/5 telescope that
uses a Sony Exmor R IMX178LQJ 6.44 Megapixel Color CMOS Image Sensor.
The advantage of the Stellina is the easy of setup and ease of transport. Setup takes about 10 minutes before you are imaging.
One of the limitations though is that each image is only collected for 10 seconds, so many images must be stacked.
This image was collected on Sept 23, 2021. This expanded the prior image to a time of 2.5 hours.
The night was relatively clear. Conveniently, the streetlight was out in front of the house.
M27 is known as the Dumbbell Nebula. It is magnitude 7.5. It has a size of 8' or 3 light years.
It is located approximately 1,500 light years from the earth.
