This image was a shot of the incredible Hale-Bopp Comet of 1997. It was an image with a simple lens attached to
my first CCD camera which was a CWIP-S. The CWIP-S was a crazy camera. It saved the image as a barcode on VHS tape.
It was one of the craziest cameras out there. It had an onboard computer and the ccd was 378 x 240 pixels.
They don't make them like that anymore.
This image was taken in March 1997 from Brookhaven National Laboratory while I was out at the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSLS).
